Are you a Widow or Widower who has remarried?
If you are a Widow or Widower who has remarried it may be possible to increase your allowances against inheritance tax. Couples who have a house and children normally have Inheritance Tax allowances of £1,000,000. However, if you are a Widow or Widower and you have remarried it may be possible with careful estate planning to increase your allowances against inheritance tax to £1,325,000 or even £1,500,000 reducing your inheritance tax liability by up to £130,000 or even up to £200,000.
This is a specialist area of estate planning which requires a highly bespoke solution. However, if you have assets over £1,000,000 and are a remarried Widow or Widower please do not hesitate to contact us for a consultation so that we can assess your situation. If you would like a no-obligation appointment, please call our client services team on 01732 868190 or by clicking here.
