A free review of existing Wills

hero image

A popular service that we offer is the free review of existing Wills and there are a number of very good reasons why we do this:

  1. Many people believe, wrongly, that writing a Will is a once in a lifetime event. A fact that is often overlooked is that changes in financial circumstances, births, deaths and marriages (and divorces!) are just some of the many factors that can significantly impact whether or not the content of a Will remains relevant. Only by conducting regular reviews can an individual ensure that their Will continues to reflect their wishes moving forward.
  2. Most people who have used the services of a professional Will writer or a Will writing solicitor confess to not having received any further contact from their Will provider since their Will was created. This means that significant events may have already occurred in their lives that have rendered their Wills unfit for purpose, yet they are left to deal with the consequences. Without professional assistance there is no guarantee that the changes required will ever be identified or correctly implemented.
  3. It is not uncommon for us to review a Will that is invalid due to it having been attested (signed and witnessed) incorrectly or, in many cases, not having been attested at all. This means that, were it not for us offering to review the Will, the person whose Will it is would have passed away without anyone noticing that their Will was invalid, causing significant problems for those left with the task of attempting to administer the estate.
  4. A Will that we review can often appear not to require any changes because the circumstances of the individual whose Will it is have not altered since it was written. However, many of the Wills we review were written long before changes in legislation were passed that included the value of the family home in the assessment for the payment of long-term residential care fees. Advances in Will writing have made it possible to significantly help reduce the negative impact of such a situation and so fundamental changes to what appeared to be an "OK" Will would be necessary.

DON'T LEAVE THINGS TO CHANCE: Complete the form to request a free review of your Will, to ensure it covers everything, to make things as simple as possible for family and friends when you leave them.
